[3D Contents] Is my room going to become a Mario Kart game track?

Have you ever seen people waiting in long lines to enter luxury brand stores? Among Nintendo games, Mario Kart is highly popular and has been releasing various series and versions of the game for a long time. After consistently releasing new versions over a long period of time, Nintendo introduced a new version of Mario Kart on December 17th,2020 that offered a unique gameplay experience not seen before. It's called "Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit," an AR game version that allows users to create virtual racing courses within their homes. Unlike previous versions that only allowed access to a few pre-existing tracks, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit stands out by enabling users to create their own custom tracks.

 

 

 

Here's how you can turn your home into a Mario Kart track: Using an RC car equipped with a camera and controlling it with a Nintendo Switch console allows you to move the RC car while capturing your home environment through its camera. As you control it by looking at real-time video on your Switch console screen during gameplay, all actions are synchronized between the RC car and virtual kart racing on your screen—immersing you in realistic racing experiences within your own home.

 

 

Additionally, by placing four provided gates around your room and driving through them once in sequence, you register the path taken by the kart as part of your course layout. Everything within those gates—from large furniture pieces to small objects like dolls—becomes part of your track layout. Therefore, users can create infinite variations of tracks.

 

 

Through "Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit," users can bring real-world structures into their game or directly observe gameplay from both virtual and real-world perspectives—a unique fusion between reality and virtuality that provides immersive experiences.
